Bridget A. Cotner, PhD

Dr. Cotner is the Qualitative Core Director, Research Health Scientist at CINCCH, Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital and Assistant Professor at the Morsani College of Medicine, Emergency Medicine, University of South Florida. She completed her master’s degree in anthropology and doctorate in measurement, research, and evaluation at the University of South Florida (USF) and her bachelor’s degree in anthropology at Ball State University. She served as a research faculty member with the Department of Anthropology at USF prior to joining the VA in 2011. In 2016, Dr. Cotner received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the Department of Anthropology at USF. Her research has focused on improving employment and quality of life outcomes, documenting access to services and rehabilitation needs of service members and Veterans with disabilities (spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury) and their care partners, engaging stakeholders in the research process, and advancing implementation of evidence-based programs and practices.
