RN Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Center for Management of Complex Chronic Care, Center of Excellence, Hines, Illinois is seeking Nursing postdoctoral fellows. During the 2-year full-time or 3 year part-time fellowship, fellows will receive intensive training in research methodology and techniques and mentored research experiences. The principal mission of this program is to develop successful nursing researchers as well as: 1) conduct clinical nursing research; 2) secure funds for clinical studies through grants; 3) foster communication of clinical research findings through presentations and publications; and 4) promote integration of significant research findings into the clinical care of patients. Proposed research must be relevant to VA care of veterans. Our center is affiliated with Northwestern University, University of Illinois-Chicago, and Loyola University, Chicago.
Eligibility
· U.S. Citizen and a nurse with active, current registration
· Masters degree in nursing or a field related to nursing and a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Nursing degrees must be awarded from programs accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.
· Be able to devote 40 hours per week for a 2-year full-time fellowship or a minimum of 20 hours per week for a 3-year part-time fellowship.
· Completion of doctoral degree by the start of the post-doctoral fellowship from a school accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education of the Council for Higher Education Association.
Funding Support
$53,912 and $57,122 per year for first and second years respectively for full-time Post-doctoral Nurse fellow plus $3,000 research support funds per year.
Stipends for part-time fellows are pro-rated at the same hourly rate as for full-time.
